RIDE IRELAND – HORSE CELEBRATION 2019
September 29th – October 6th

Join us as we once again journey to the Emerald Isle where we’ll pack a week full of total immersion into the Galway area horse world. Experience the Ballinasloe Horse Fair, one of the oldest horse fairs in Europe dating back to the 1700’s, a day of thrilling XC riding and schooling at the venerable Flowerhill Equestrian Center with top notch equestrian Oliver Walsh to prepare for autumn meets with East Galway Foxhounds and Grallaugh Harriers and culminating with County Rosommon Hunt’s Opening Meet.

Lodge in a private sumptuous estate on beautiful Lough Derg. Dine at off-the-beaten-path local pubs and restaurants sourcing and serving local food, drink, music, and craic. Ride experienced Irish horses in out-of-this-world gorgeous country. Visit the remarkable Irish countryside, sights, shopping, and people. Plunge yourself into the world of Irish horseback riding and the horse world that few get the occasion to experience.

Expedition price includes horse hire, capping/riding fees, lodging, ground transportation, and "Cruise Director".

EXPEDITION COST - The trip is $4500, with a $500 per person reduction for double occupancy.

DATES: Arrive Saturday, September 28th and depart Monday, October 7th. Itinerary begins Sunday, September 29th and ends evening Sunday, October 6th.

INCLUDES: Nine nights in a private room in a GORGEOUS estate on the lake, all horse hire (5 days riding), capping fees (4 meets), XC horse hire and instruction (2 sessions/full day), and ground transportation all week. DOES NOT INCLUDE: Airfare, tips, meals, fair entry, travel insurance.

GROUP SIZE: Minimum 4 persons, maximum 12 persons.

RIDING LEVEL: Moderate to advanced riding including cross country riding and foxhunting with 18” - 3’ jumps (you can avoid jumping in the hunts, but will definitely want to try it at the XC course with instruction) in English saddles. Hunt country has mostly stone walls, hedges, fences, and some ditches and banks. You will be trained for this and meet your horse during a day of cross country instruction.

FOOD/LODGING DETAILS: We stay in luxury private estates and castles located on the east shore of Lough Derg in Tipperary County. The homes are equipped with full kitchens, dining areas, and lounge/library/bar. Meals are self-catered. We generally go to the local grocery store (no better way to know the area) and stock the kitchen and bar with breakfast, snacks, and cocktail items. Most evenings, we venture to a local pub or restaurant for dinner and entertainment.

AIR TRAVEL: Shannon (SNN) is the nearest airport and a 1hr ride to the house, Dublin (DUB) is approximately 2 hours from the house. Depending upon the makeup of the group and origination of flights, we’ll make arrangements to meet and travel to the house on Saturday the 28th as a group.

CURRENCY: Ireland is on the Euro.

TO BOOK: Please email renee@montanahorses.com or call me (Renee) at (406) 579-4060. I’ll tell you how to book this trip! A non-refundable booking fee of $1500 is payable upon reservation of your place, the balance due 30 days prior to departure.
