RIDE IRELAND - HORSE CELEBRATION

The first time I took a group foxhunting in Ireland, I decided IRELAND KICKED MY ASS. But, I couldn't wait to go back to see if I could conquer it or at least survive it again (well, that happened after I overcame some crippling fear and upped my competency a lot by leaning on some trusted friends and pushing myself past some limits I thought I had - but, that's another story). I came home having been immersed in one of the most overwhelming experiences. It got deep, deep into my being, like I had somehow traveled into a dream and got to live there for awhile (but the kind of dream where when you fall, you actually hit the ground before you wake up).

Foxhunting Ireland was intoxicating. It was everything that humans (especially women) secretly desire: to really be a part of a tribe, to have a truly novel experience that actually forever alters the way you think...about everything, to push yourself just a little further than you thought you could and be proud and amazed by yourself and celebrate when you do it with people who were there to encourage and support you through it all, to have real fun with great horses and great people, and to kind of, mostly feel that it is in a planned, relatively thought out, safeish (or at least utilizing the very best professionals) package using standards you are comfortable enough with to actually bite the bullet and get you there.

When you foxhunt in Ireland, you become a part of the local scenery. You're IN it, not just looking AT it like a tourist.

I'm hooked. And I keep returning. And I keep sharing this amazing experience with others who end up feeling the same way.

Wild West Extravaganza May 2019

When we’re not chasing coyotes, we’ll be branding cattle, horseback on a wagon train, riding the range, gathering cattle, and learning the cowboy tricks of the trade (like roping) while we sit around the campfire in the middle of The Big Open.  We’ll ride into town afterward in time for the 68th Miles City Bucking Horse Sale, to parade hounds in the Main Street Parade, and where we have premiere seats and backstage passes for some of the best fun imaginable.
