Our "prospects" are many other's "finished" horses. If they are on our Prospects for Sale list, we feel they have the potential to be solid, gentle, proven horses, but simply lack the age or experience to have proven themselves over time to us. They possess all the qualities we find desireable in a horse; gentleness, versatility, good mind, sound conformation. These "prospects" are horses we believe are best placed with a certain type of rider, usually more confidant and versatile horsemen who possess the skills necessary to best utilize younger, smart horses with their lives of refinement ahead of them.

If you are more interested in a proven horse, please see our other Horses for Sale. Here at the Mantle Ranch, we take very seriously our claim to lease and sell solid, gentle, proven trail horses. If a horse is in our trail horse sale lineup, we have taken the time over many months and usually years to know the horse well enough to make that claim. These are horses we feel confidant enough to represent as safe, family horses. We sell only the best. Our prices reflect the time and experience they have with us and their overall versatility, both in their abilities and in the type of rider that can enjoy them.

2005 AQHA Sorrel Gelding

We purchased Dutch as a two year old and he has been raised and trained here on our ranch. Has been through all of the events offered here - including our Ranch Weeks, Photo Expeditions, mountain trail rides and has lead a pack string. He completes the Ultimate Horse Course and gathers horses. He is a pet - extremely gentle and personable. Literally catch him anywhere. Super bone and nice, big feet. An incredible prospect - ready to go any direction. Dutch is 6 years old, full of athleticism and a very pretty mover, neck reins and push button broke in the arena. We've be taking him on summer pack trips, he higgh lines, pcikets, drags firewood, crosses water and is a spider in the rocks. AWESOME horse that Kail has used as a gather horse for 2 years and on the Horse drive. He even jumps!

1998 Sorrel Paint Gelding For Sale

King is currently Renee's personal saddle horse. He is a very special horse. He cuts, sorts, gathers, and ropes ably. He is fast and agile enough for a working cow horse, barrel, rope horse, or arena prospect. He is also gentle enough for a beginner to learn. He spins on a dime, opens and closes gates, drags, no spook, and he's never stumbled. We have used him in the Horse Drive, foxhunt, and on the trails. He is really exceptional ans extremely athletic. Catch him anywhere, he's always at the gate waiting for the work day and greets us every morning with a whinny and begs for cookies. King has the size for a man and the patience for a timid woman. He is easy to shoe, load, stands to get on, and has no vices that we have seen. We will be taking King on our summer pack trip in August to see how he does in camp. He's a favorite who worked his way right into our saddle horse pen this spring.
