Join the Mantle family and crew of cowboys and cowgirls as they open their working horse ranch and life with hundreds of horses exclusively to you for three days of once-in-a-lifetime photographic opportunites. Witness hundreds of horses stampeding toward you in evening and morning herd gathers and roundups, get up close and personal to photograph working cowboys and horses in the corrals, catch the action of rodeo roughstock staged just for you. Learn how to create fine art images, participate in a very special session teaching portraiture like you've never seen it (How Do You Photograph a Two-Year-Old?), find out how to capture that special horse or person in unforgettable moments. This three-day adventure is an in-depth hands-on instructional workshop covering Val Westover's "Capturing True Emotion - How to Photograph Like a Pro." Learn Essentials, ISO, Shutter Speed, Relationship, Metering, Light, Composition, and much much more on an authentic Montana horse ranch, while receiving personal instruction and amazing opportunities to shoot over the shoulders of the pros. By the time you go home, we will have covered, lighting, composition, movement, horse behavior and herd mentality. You will have a new passion for photography and you will have once in a lifetime images that not only tell amazing stories, but also have captured true emotion.

for a three-day adventure-packed workshop in Three Forks, Montana.

TOTAL IMMERSION...

All Expeditions begin with an informal social hour Thursday evening at the Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks. Friday begins at 9am at the ranch and ends around 5pm, includes lunch. Saturday begins at the ranch at 9am and ends around 8pm, including lunch and dinner. Sunday begins at the ranch at 9am, includes lunch and ends with Closing Ceremonies (dinner), ending around 9pm.   Lodging is available separately in Three Forks, we recommend The Sacajawea Hotel (406) 285-6515 or the Lewis and Clark Motel (406) 285-3474.
Nearest services are in Three Forks.  Nearest Airport is Bozeman (BZN).
Be prepared to spend most of the day outside, standing, in the weather and dusty corrals and pastures, hiking might be necessary.  Wear comfortable shoes and check the forecast for appropriate clothing.  We will continue, rain or shine. Meals are provided as noted in above descriptions. There is no cell reception at the Ranch, but wifi is available.

Events fill quickly and space is limited to groups of 10.  To reserve a spot, each participant should complete a separate reservation form.  Cost: $1700.  No refunds. If rescheduling becomes necessary on particpant's part, we are happy to apply your fee to another workshop.
