Over the next year, Montana Horses is making some big changes! Our current ranch is for sale and we'll be moving locations (not far) and phasing out of our leasing program. We will continue to offer our top-notch horses for sale, as described below. We'll also be selling and placing our incredible lease herd. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase PROVEN trail horses, the kind that never come on the sale market, the type of horses that never leave the ranch! We won't be making many more of these, so don't miss this chance. If you need a trail horse or a recraetional horse, we can help you find the right horses for your family, ranch, or operation.

Each year, we select a few of our very finest horses and offer them for sale. These are horses that have worked their way up through our various programs and who we feel best represent us, our ranch, and our preferred type of horse. These are horses on which we are proud to place our brand and our name.

Here at the Mantle Ranch, we take very seriously our claim to lease and sell solid, gentle, proven trail horses. If a horse is in our trail horse sale lineup, we have taken the time over many months and usually years to know the horse well enough to make that claim. These are horses we feel confidant enough to represent as safe, family horses. We sell only the best. Our prices reflect the time and experience they have with us and their overall versatility, both in their abilities and in the type of rider that can enjoy them. Most of our Trail Horse For Sale begin at $5000 and are between the ages of 8 and 16 years old.

Our "prospects" are many other's "finished" horses. If they are on our Prospects for Sale list, we feel they have the potential to be solid, gentle, proven horses, but simply lack the age or experience to have proven themselves over time to us. They possess all the qualities we find desireable in a horse; gentleness, versatility, good mind, sound conformation. These "prospects" are horses we believe are best placed with a certain type of rider, usually more confidant and versatile horsemen who possess the skills necessary to best utilize younger, smart horses with their lives of refinement ahead of them.

Please, read our sales policies, purchase agreement, and buying tips prior to calling us on a horse. We want to be your last stop in your search for the perfect horse, not your first.

Our lineup is being updated continually. Since we're riding these horses and running the ranch ourselves daily, sometimes we are a little tardy in keeping things posted. A NOTE ABOUT THE SALE OF THE MANTLE RANCH AND HOW IT WILL EFFECT OUR HORSE SALES: The Mantle Ranch is for sale and beginning in 2012, Kail and Renee will be phasing out of the lease operaton. Many of our lease horses will become available for sale. We will offer first right to their current lessors and we also expect to have many excellent proven trail horses for sale as early as this fall. We are committed to placing these horses just as carefully as we always have. They will be cataloged on this website and their prices will be from $2500 - $7500 depending upong their age and abilities.
